Enterprise Technology + AI

After 20+ Years in ERP, Here’s What Generative AI Changes—and What It Doesn’t

A practical perspective on what Generative AI changes in enterprise systems—and why operational understanding still matters.

The interface may change. The responsibility does not.

Generative AI can make enterprise information easier to find, summarize and act on. It can help teams move from a question to a useful starting point faster. But speed does not remove the need for sound process, accurate data, appropriate access and accountable decisions.

In HCM and ERP environments, a confident answer is not automatically a correct answer. The work still depends on understanding how people, payroll, benefits, time, security and downstream operations connect.

The durable advantage is knowing how the business works.

Technology changes quickly. Operational consequences do not. A payroll issue still affects a person. A poorly designed workflow still creates friction. A weak control still creates risk.

The strongest AI transformation begins with the same discipline as a strong enterprise implementation: understand the current process, identify the real problem, define the decision, and build for the people who must use the result.
